leaking shift seal

I have a leaking shift seal.was just a small drip till today.not sure how to go about fixing it.also im using synthetic and im not sure if this has anything to do with it.i have the original shop manual which has a diagram of it but doesn't explain seal replacement.this is a 1980 cb 750f.any help would be appreciated.
