low compression

Josherlock
my '81 K has low compression in cylinder 4. How hard of a tear down am i looking at to diagnose my issue? Any idea of what potential issue i may have?

On a separate note, anyone know of any either oem or aftermarket bags that could fit my K? I do have the over rear fender rack.

Thanks.

Squirt some motor oil in #4 and redo the compression test.  If the pressure goes up you need rings, if not you need to do a valve job only.  However if it were me I would go ahead and put rings in it.

I bet the valve(s) are leaking.Have you checked the valve adjustment?

Could be a couple valves are hanging open or burnt.Bad piston rings/worn cylinder.
