First thing to do is check, for spark. Either pull one of yours out, or find another one laying around (not hard to do in my tool box). When checking be sure to ground the plug against the head. The 1-4 are on one coil, and 2-3 are on the other. If, you have spark on say #1, and not#4 it's probably a plug wire. If, you do not have spark on both say 1-4 it could be the coil, or points, or a wire. Pull the point cover, and check, for voltage at the points. If it is weak, or no voltage check the wire at the coil. If there is voltage at the coil + but not at the - (going to the points) the coil is bad. If, you have good strong voltage at the points. The points might be bad. Usually, you can see if there bad.
