shift drum

jerm
this is my first post on this site. Ive always seemed to find the information i needed without having to make a post but i'm at a loss, maybe you guys can help me out. I have a 74 cb750. i got the bike last year off a buddy. The bike had the infamous falling out of 2nd problem. A buddy and myself split the case and replaced the shift drum and forks, got everything back together and the bike runs. only problem is cant engage anything over 2nd gear.

my thought is that the shift drum isn't in the correct position for me to be able to shift through all the gears....

any advice or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.
