suspension. raising rear end with gsxr front end

isaakt
i have a 1980 cb750k with 2002 gsxr 1000 front end. the front has been lowered already due to the gsxr front end and the bike already has these afternarket shocks. i believe these are them.

http://www.amazon.com/340mm-Shock-Absorber-HONDA-Honda/dp/B00DT082VM

my goal here  is to raise the rear end of the bike enough to improve cornering, ground clearance, And give the bike a more aggressive look/feel without sacrificing handling (staying away from tank slapping)

i was considering of getting another set of shocks that are bigger than 340mm from eye to clevis. i found a set that are 380mm but they are eye to eye but ive considered using a double clevis to mount them. i believe the largest i can go is 360mm eye to clevis

could i make that 20mm jump without sacrificing my handling or maybe bigger. i juat really dig the look of the rear sitting higher. i just dont wanna change the trail too much to where im gonna need a steering damper

I am not an engineer, so I have no idea of how changing the rear will affect the bike, but I am all for trying things. I would make new bottom mounts, and weld them further forward on the swing arm to raise the rear. However I find it odd that you would install top of the line front forks on the bike, and then put bargain basement rear shocks on it.

well i was gonna spend the money on bargain basement longer shocks to see if i like the look/feel of them and then i was gonna put money towards better shocks in the future if it works out

That makes sense, but those shocks are not really going to give a realistic representation of how the handling will change with quality shocks. Making adjustable shock mounts would give a lot of versatility to adjust the suspension, and I am positive that if you were able to mount that front end, you can make new shock mounts.
