Re: throttle problems

Polymer-2
Wrap a few turns of duct tape around the bar then clamp the throttle over it.
There should have been a tab in the throttle to align with a hole in the bar but often they are broken off from tightening them down on a bar without the hole.

Maybe somebody filed the throttle housing to fit a larger diameter bar at one time. I would try wrapping it like polymer said.

So the whole right hand control comes off? Now I am going with a cb750 SOHC model here. the throttle sleeve has a lip that goes inside the right hand control housing so it CANT slip off unless the whole unit does. If the whole unit does, then you got some weird handlebars or need to get new screws and tighten things better. If the unit does not move but the throttle still slides off, you need a new one! This is for the 69-78 cb.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
