valves

77honda
i took the advice and took all my valves out. i was wondering how i could clean them up. could i bead blast them clean?? i'm not sure if it would mess them up.      

while you are reading im doing a rebuild about to put it back together   any hints tricks or advice would help out alot first time     thanks

this being a new post we dont know why you removed them. I would not beed blast them. Soak in CLR or maby try pine-sol to loosen any build up on them. you can wire brush the valve top to remove garbage from it but not the shaft whear the seals ride or sealing serface to the valve seat.
If you did not keep them in order you will need to lap them in when you put it back together.

 I have used in the past a copper wire brush to clean the face of the valves. The face to me is the surface that faces the piston. The sealing surface to the head I would lap in or have lapped in by someone that knows how. The shaft if it is real bad I'd replace it if pitted or rusted. If one is bent at all replace it.

try to find any spec on the valves also and of course a micrometer :)
