This is the kind of story that NEVER gets old. Something you and your cohort will never forget. I love the thought process behind this: looking at each other, just having read a street racing article, looking at the moped, and then rummaging around for a bottle and jets and switches.
Love it.

the first i remember was a plastic big wheel. then got a bicycle. the bmx style was all the rage back then. i then wanted a unicycle, my parents wouldnt buy one, said i wouldnt ride it. i saved up 75 bucks and around my 13th bday i bought a one wheeler. i could ride it in about 2 months. i got my first motorcycle in 9th grade. it was an early 80s kawasaki gpz 550. it was alot of fun. chicks who would have never spoke to me wanted a ride.

My '76 CB750 I got July 2011 is my first bike. I have never crashed it (thank God), even during my initial learning mode. I was such a newbie, though, that it took me a month or two to check the tires and realize they were at like 15 psi, which was making the bike too sludgy to give me trouble from over-accelerating.

My first bike was a Honda 305 Dream. I was 16. . . . .My first speeding ticket, Honda 305 Dream. . . .

My first was a 1973 Yamaha DT250, had a blast trying to get it to go faster. Top end when i got it was about 71 or 72, i squeezed about 5 or 6 more mph out of it with sprocket and exhaust changes.

1971 Honda Trail 90.I was 16.
Bought it brand new for about $315 OTD.It was yellow and a LEMON.
Had to take it back after 2 weeks for engine problems and never seem to run like it should.
A friend of mine had a '68 that was never cared for but could out run mine.
My other friends had a Kawasaki 90,Bridgestone 90 and a Honda SL90.
Wish I had bought an SL90.

My first bike was a 96 yz125 when I was 16, I badgerd the hell out of my parents for a street bike until they finally loaned me the money to get a dirtbike, my pops said 4 stroke 100cc limit, somehow I got away with a 125 2 smoker! Which was blindingly fast! I was 140lbs. After all the noise complaints and the cops showing up twice a week he caved in on the streetbike and co-signed on a R6 for me. I couldn't believe that he would agree to that, my mother never forgave him for that. I racked up 14 speeding tickets, 1 negligent driving, 1 reckless driving in 1 year. I sold it soon after and am still pay ridiculous car insurance premiums to this day. The R6 was 8 years ago...uh don't get your kid a race bike. Get him a cb750 so he feels like he just got a big boy bike but doesn't know he'll spend more time working on it than riding it. lol

So basically you're incredibly lucky to still be alive. In how many places have you broken bones?
Also, the CB750 is famous for being one of the most reliable work horses. You mean, give him a broken CB750 so he spends more time working on it..

At 17 I wish I had known that your driving record is the same on a bike as in a car! Ahh the trouble I will get in, ill never know.

I have many many broken bones, 2 6in metal plates and multiple visits to the ER and ICU. Very lucky to be alive. I was a big jerk on a crotch rocket, but none of my injuries came from a streetbike. All came from riding dirt. I very much like to leave that image behind me. Im a cb guy now, no ego lol

Yes a broken cb, I meant that. I agree with your statement.

Well, yes, my 63 305 Dream did go fast enough to get me in trouble!!!

I had a 66 305 Dream. Would love to have a Super Hawk. There is a guy here in Kansas City that still has one he bought brand new, and it looks brand new.
