That is your front cam chain tensioner seal.  Looks like it has failed and you need a new one.  I think they're like $3 from a honda dealership.

They just friction fit in, but you'll need to pull the cam chain tensioner out to get at it.  I don't think you can do that without pulling the head off the engine (I advise pulling the engine out of the frame to do this).

If you're going to do that, I would advise checking to see if your valves need lapping and if your cam chain tensioner needs to be replaced.

Let me know if you decide to do it and I can help you find relevant info.

Thanks for your answer, I thought this would be a simple thing, but I don't know enough to get into this 'remove the engine' thing. Will go see my mechanic, but I guess I can still ride it for a while or dangerous to do so ?

How bad's the leak? If it's super-slow, I wouldn't worry about it. If you're losing a quart a day (slight exaggeration, obviously) then yeah, not safe.

On second look, it may be coming from your valve cover gasket, which is a much easier fix.  There is a path of oil that seems to run down from it.

Are you able to clean it up, then run it for a bit and see where it's coming from?

If it is your cam chain tensioner seal I wouldn't bother fixing it by itself unless it was bad.  There isn't really any harm in leaking a little oil as long as you keep your eye on the level.  You just get a dirty engine that you have to clean.

Your mechanic is going to charge you an arm and a leg in labour to fix that leak.

If the oil leak is very slow, an easy way to find it is to thoroughly clean the area of all grease, let it dry completely (compressed air can be applied to dry it within minutes), then apply baking soda powder to the area, run the engine, and see where it gets wet (mild abrasive when applied under pressure; dissolves with water application, but flush thoroughly to be rid of all of it).  Your bike appears to be a DOHC model, which means the maximum oil pressure will be 72 PSI:  the oil will be under decent pressure, so it should show up quickly and easily, just by revving it up to 3,000 RPM a couple of times, on the center stand; take it for a short ride, if necessary, to get the leak to show up.  Cheers!

thanks, the leak is only a drop every 2 or 3 days, so I guess I will not worry about it

after cleaning everything up, running the engine a while, this is the result. Is the caramel looking seal the cam seal ? It's not leaking bad, I'll leave it for now and check oil often . Thanks

That caramel crap is someones attempt at a quick fix.  The seal is underneath that.
