1979 cb750 sweet

s2k006
Hey folks,
I just got a 1979 cb750 on a good deal at a lien sale.
Not bad shape. Looks like its been laid down a couple of times, but
she fires right up and sounds pretty good. I've been able to find quite
a selection of parts on Ebay. All I'm replacing at this point are handle bars,
head light, front and rear signal lights, ignition switch with new key and gauges.
Later on I'll put some new pipes on it.
Being new to the forum, my first big question for you guys is; What type of oil should
I put in it and how much?

Thanks, Steve

You Lucky bugger. I`m in Australia and have been searchng in vain for a handle bar for my CB750KZ ( same as yours in the photo and same colour - Candy Muse Red ) after an off incident in which the handle bar got bent, and cant find one anywhere - even on E-Bay. If you are doing a restoration and you want the original four into four silencers, there is a factory in Italy - of all places that makes the genuine article, but not the donw pipes. Go to
www.mivv.com thats two v`s not a w - can be confusing when you have to v`s alongside each other. Go to the web page and look for original replacement on the right hand side of the page. The part number is 73.96.062.44. Do let me know how you go and where you got your handlebar from. You can email me at pg45@arach.net.au

Cheers for now

Hi Mate I might have a Handle bar for your bike, it's an original and I eaven have the pipes. Check out my two bikes, because i'm making one out of these two. I have 13000 km engine on the brown one it's actually a CB 750F engine. The black bike has a bad engine so i will do the switcharoo!!

Let me know if you are interested in any parts.

Image is too large oops    here is my e mail guimondmarcel@sympatico.ca

It's a shame to have to part out such a nice looking bike.
Why not rebuild the engine and keep them both road worthy.
I heard someone say that too many of these nicer bikes are disappearing from the
road due to parting out.
Granted, I could certainly use some parts off of a bike like yours, but I'd rather
canibalize one that's been wrecked or something like that.

Something to consider.
