1980 cb dies intermittently

80 bobber
Ive got a 1980 cb 750, just recently on a ride to gila bend it seemed like i lost 2 cylinders and my bike died. after awhile it started right up and made it the 35 miles home with no problems. i took it on a short ride and it died after about 4 miles, wait long enough to smoke a cigarette and it will go another few miles and die. its not a fuel restriction, i checked that. any ideas. im thinking its the pulser.

You may be right.  Pulsar or oil or conenction.  Bike is a 2cyl ignition wise.

Next time it does this have a good spare spark plug with you. Hook it to the plug wires to see which 2 cylendars are effected. I have a had allot of coils do this just before they stop working all together.
The 750's had 2 coils running 4 cylendars. so 2 cylendars should quit sparking if this is the case.
