If I just leave it outside and let it rust a little more it'll look like that all on its own
It's already pretty ratty looking. Or should I say it has a nice patina.
I it tagged today. I got an antique tag so I don't have pay registration again, ever.
I messed with the brakes trying to get them to stop sticking. I took the reservoir off the master cylinder and tried to locate the tiny hole that is inside another tiny hole. No luck there. I just cleaned out as much gunk as I could and put it back together and bled the system. They were still sticking so I pulled the calipers and made sure everything could move. I compressed the pistons using a c-clamp and pumped them back out a few times. That seemed to do the trick. I know, I need to rebuild the entire system, and I will this winter. I just want to get everything working and see where I'm at. I noticed my odometer doesn't work. Speedometer works fine. I attempted to swap the speedo from the parts bike but I didn't check it first. It was locked up tight and it broke my speedo cable. I had spare cable too, but damned if I could get that fricking screw out of the speedo drive, ended up breaking the end of the cable housing so I just taped the stupid thing back together LOL, works for now.
Seems sort of dumb to take everything of it and starting adding sh!t back on to it. Just trying to make it my own I guess.
I'm trying to mount the saddle bags now. There's a bunch of ways to do it with all the brackets and stuff. Spent hours trying different combos. Finally settled on a way to do it.
I got these pipes coming from ebay. Should look pretty good along with the seat.
I'm picking up a windshield like this from a guy on craigslist tomorrow. He says it's new-in-the-box:
