Doing some computer cleaning and ran across a few pics from Barber. We've been going for the swap meet, rather than spectating, but some things are just too cool not to take a picture of.

Not overly crazy about the Pabst heat shield, but otherwise a very cleanly done turbo'd Sporty.

A really cool v-twin Vincent. Not really digging the vast array of extra holes on the rearsets, but that engine...

Don't remember the year of this bike, but I like all the little mechanical bits on it. The drive belt was so cool with all the individual pieces of leather that were riveted together. And you thought master links were a pain....

Abingdon King Dick. Absolutely gorgeous... (edit: I'd say it's fairly safe to assume it is a 1912 model)

They have the Wall of Death here every year. It's free to watch once you're inside the event, but the riders put on an awesome show to collect donations. The spectators stand around the edge of the wall and hold out dollar bills while the riders come around and take them out of your hand. It's wild.

Luckily, these guys are really cool, down to earth guys and they let myself and a couple other in to the Wall early one morning. We got to talk to the guys and get some nice close up pics of the bikes. These old Indians are beautiful. The left hand throttles are kinda crazy. According to the riders, they were built with left hand throttle so that soldiers riding them could have their right hand free to fire their gun. Nice.

I never looked yet, but there may be some cool videos on this link. Maybe you can hire them for your next Birthday party, too.

Old two-stroke Harley sounded awesome zipping around the wall.

Check out the smudges on the forks. G-force much?

The guy in the red flannel shirt is Charles Manson. No lie, that's his name. He rides the red Indian.

That round things with the vent is an old siren. It's on a hinge and has that chain to keep it from swining around too much. Charles presses it in to the rear tire while he's on the wall and it drives the siren making it wail. It's awesome.

While we were watching he took a spill on the mornings first run and put these gouges in the wall. It was terrifying to watch, but Charles and the bike both walked away without a scratch. The bike hit the floor of the Wall so hard it shook the whole place. It just lay on it's side while Charles dusted himself off. He walked over and yanked on a few bits to see if they were still solid after killing the engine and uprighting the bike. After he checked it out he kicked her over and took right back off and got on the wall. The crowd went nuts. It was scary to watch, but I'm glad I got to see it. You don't really realize how fast these guys are going until they drop one. Trust me, it's fast.

That looks like a harley that might actually have some performance! I got over the pbr shield, but that headlight sticks out like a sore thumb!
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Those guys were staying at the same hotel as our vintage motorcycle club last year. We saw them at breakfast every day, but didn't get to sit with them and talk. Next year…. :)
