hey,i really need to finish up making the tail section for my frame..i have a brand new welder, but no gas and no 220 power..i can get the gas on my next check, but im not guna pay someone to hook up my power..im just guna wait till my dad comes to town in a few weeks and hes guna hook it up for me..hes an electrician.

but,my machine is the miller mvp.so it can run on 110 or 220 power..110 mode is limited tho..im wondering if i get the gas, will i be able to get a good penetration in 110 mode?

I'm not a pro welder, but i can still lead you astray. I have seen dual voltage welders go either way. Some of them do fantastic on 110,some of them make popcorn. It's always worth a shot though

I have the Millermatic (notice "Matic") 140. It's a 110 welder, and works great on these frames. They are, so thin 220 is just overkill.

You will have no problem welding the frame with that welding machine on 110V.

The Honda CB750 frame is .062 or 1/16 thickness tube.

You do not need gas to weld either.

FCAW Flux core arc welding (no gas) is used in structural welding.
There is nothing deficient about that welding process.

It leaves a very slight slag, which is  EASILY brushed off with a wire brush.
All parts being welded MUST be clean shinny metal with no grease or dirt on the weld joint.
If you are welding 1/4 inch metal with 110V then both sides must be welded and the joint beveled properly.
It is always good to weld both sides of any weldment.
Of course a tube is welded on the outside.
