Aftermarket CB 750 Guages?

ydelacosta
Has anyone had any luck finding non OEM speed and tach guages for your bike.... I am having a hard time. I have a 74 CB 750, and there are very few options on eBay..

Any insight is welcome. Thanks.

Yep, i got the pair from Dime City….the tachometer is available in three ratios, they tell you which one works with the CB750 on the site, think it was 1:4 ratio….

Got this speedo...http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-electronic-parts-mini-chrome-black-face-led-speedo-speedometer-15-0032b.html

And this tach….http://www.dimecitycycles.com/vintage-cafe-racer-caferacer-bobber-brat-chopper-custom-motorcycle-parts-mini-chrome-tach-tachometer-15-0033b.html

I didn't have much luck finding many aftermarket bike gauges either. Not really sure how weatherproof these are either, there's no mention on the site whether or not they are. I guess I will find out. :)

Mark, Thanks for the info my fellow Floridian. Was the wiring very difficult? It seems like there are a lot of different wires as opposed to the Stock 750 gauges.

What is your price range?
I guess that is a big thing.
My gauges are kinda rough and need some work but I was thinking about replacing them with an all in one unit that uses a sensor for speed and such. I was looking at a koso but they are a bit pricy at $350.
Acewell has units too. The dimecity ones I looked at too and seem nice if that is your thing.
The hardest part is that analog gauges driven by cables need to have the right ratio to reflect the correct info.

Well, half the wires coming out of the speedo were for the replacement idiot lights….the ones on the handlebar clamp will no longer be used. They have a speedo without the lights so you can simplify the wiring of the gauge and retain the original lights for neutral, turn, oil, and high beam. The number of wires for the speedo and tach were the same as stock and they have hookup directions in the box. I have not installed them yet, but the instructions that came with them tell where every wire goes, so it should be a no brainer. :)

The speedo/w idiot lights comes with a wiring diagram.
all the wires with a black stripe are grounds all the the wires
without a black stripe get 12V from the different systems as
denoted by the color.  Very straight forward.
