Blown main fuse

Hi everyone
I'm new so any help would be much appreciated
I have a 82 750f that blows the main fuse when I try to start it.It will turn over for maybe 5 seconds then blows the fuse all the lights and indicators work fine it is only on the starter I have checked everything I can see, nothing. Any ideas

Check the wire connections on the back of the fuse block. It they are loose, or corroded it will cause the fuse to get hot, and blow.

    Speaking of HOT just turn on key and fill around for warm wires ,
   My faring plug got hot had to unwrap the harness to find the right one
   but sure enough had currosion in side the plastic coating on the warm one.
          (replaced the whole wire)

Great advice
Just goes to show check the easy things first. I was thinking worst case scenario 5 minutes cleaning and it's all good
