Good idea Pat. I dont know anything about H-D's.Any idea what years I should search for.


Tired of eating out of a microwave (power still out) so I took Crys to a chinese buffet tonight. This was my fortune.Tools,I thought you might like this. Made me think about this thread :)

  Had a bike Straight spool up front Ole drum out back,Hell just get used to what have,You'll get used to it .So long as you don't have to take of an a steep hill,front spool,suicide shift N clutch ,No prob ya get used to it and riding new and stock just seem essayer is all.

holy shit thats awesome..unfortune cookie..nah im not sure what would bolt up..you might have to make a custom axle or maybe use the whole front end off a 60's sportster.i know they have a 7/8's stem,but not sure of the length.

HAHA! Unfortune cookie. Yeah,i didnt figure any would fit right on,I just wasn't sure what years used the drum brake. I tooled around on ebay some last night and remembered that anything H-D related is out of my budget.

yeah hd stuff is expensive...i like them and i tried to build a sportster once...rebuilt the engine and thats as far as i got before i sold it..expect to pay around $100 for a 60's sporty hub..

Not sure about performace but it def. looks cool, now just slap on some white walls!  I've ridden some old Brit bikes with the about the same size drum,  I'm sure the weight difference will affect stopping distance some, but I've never had a problem stoppin from a high speed...never any over posted limits of course
