Cautionary tale steering head removal

For all the newbies ,such as myself, please refer to the manual before exploring uncharted waters. I thought i would pop the steering head off and take a look see.I assumed there would be bearings in there...i assumed said bearings would be contained in a bearing cage...i assumed wrong. They are not in a cage , and they are apparently very free spirited little critters. As i said before, consult the manual. It''s no fun searching all around a dirty shop floor for elusive little steelies that could have been easily contained.May my pain be your gainIf you do release them into the wild as i did...37 is what to search for.Which is about the amount of minutes needed to locate them.Better luck to you all

I would suggest, you get an Allballz tapered roller bearing kit. tasclassicmotorsports.com is where I get mine.

When, you put those back in. It helps if, you put the grease in the fridge to stiffen it up.
