Dad's 76 Super Sport.

settles
My Dad wanted me to post some pics of his 76 CB750 Super Sport and see what y'all think. So here she is.  We picked her up off Craigslist (that sounds really bad LOL). I won't say what he paid for it but the guy said someone from Cali offered to wire him $5K if my Dad welched.  It is unrestored with right around 2K miles on the Odo. Enjoy.

Wow! Did someone find a time machine!? That thing is gorgeous! That is exactly what my bike would have looked like new.Same year, color and everything.I have been picking on my bike it and calling it ugly. Well, not anymore.I had no idea how nice they look when they are actually in good condition. Awesome looking machine. Thanks for posting it for the rest of us to enjoy

Did you notice the CBX in the background? 6-Cylinder 1000cc CB!?! Dad tried to buy that one from him too and he wasn't having any of that. I'm trying to get him to sign up for the forum but he isnt too internet savvy.  I figure I'll just post shit for him.  It'll be easier on the both of us.

Nice bike, but it does look kind of puny next to that CBX.

Because he probably already had this guy's dad's offer or had given his word he'd hold it for a few days.

I've done that, and gotten higher offers than I was holding it for someone for, because that's the right thing to do. If you give your word, that's as good as a promise.

Or, he made that up to get his dad to buy.

Couple possibilities.

I have seen them go, for over $7,000.00. $5,000.00 would be a deal.

He told him about the guy in Cali when my Dad showed up with the cashier's check so it was pretty much a done deal already.  I called him and said we wanted it and he said meet him at 6:00 with cash or cashier's check and it was ours, after that it was fair game.  The guy posted it at around 2:00 and by 7:00 he was on his way back with it on the trailer.

We missed one earlier that was in about the same condition but had around 10k miles on it guy wanted
$3500. By the time I saw the posting on CL it had been up for about 8hrs and it was gone.  If you want one that clean you had better be ready to move on it QUICK.  There are people willing to pay a lot of money for them (in relative terms) and they are basically just waiting for them to pop up on CL.

When I stole mine (250.00) it was on C.L. " 15min. " the guy said ,(was 11pm when I called on it)told the guy I'd be over right after work to pick up,But can give the money now ! So you don't sell it waiting for me. He said don't worry .Took it off the c.l. list right away and I got my bike. I was like a buzzard ready to kill something cause I kept missing on the bikes due to work,But God on my side I got what I wonted 30miles away 45min. drive. There out there always............ CASH ON hand.helps

I figured out a way to keep my eye on the CBs (anything for that matter)that are listed. I go to CL and search for whatever. Then copy the web address and subscribe to that link in Google Reader. Works like a charm. Updates almost immediately.

I know this thread is a little old. But I just bought the exact same bike. Well almost, its missing the left side cover.  I'm wondering how things are goin with the bike?  What have ya learned so far?  Mine is near mint with only 3,200 miles, so they're very comparable.
