I haven't built a cafe racer since I was in High School, way back in the late 60's. My brother who was a Harley guy
Was always after me to build them and open a bike shop with. He passed away in 2008 ( Cancer ). I started looking at Ebay for bicycle days one day, I also build high end racing Bicycles. I saw a 71 750 just like one I had built in the old days, it was even the same paint. In 2011 I found two sweet 1979's a 750 and a 650 both from original owners and both had under 10 K in mileage. The 650 had 7,070. And away I went.                                                                              Posted is my 750, It's not 100 % complete as I am and will always make changes and improvements. That's the fun of of creating a bike the way you want it.. I tried to keep it as retro as those 60's bikes were, old style tires, spoke wheels. I moved the fuse box to clean up the dash, This winter I plan to to hide the battery and electrics, install a set of CR 31's, replace the wheels with SS spokes. My friends think I should add pedestrian slicer, never likes that look.
I plan on buying a new or nearly new Thruxton and going retro, and building it in the Triton style, then maybe a Norley.

Well done.  Looks great.

How do you find the carbs run with the pods vs. airbox?  I'm always hoping to hear a positive story and some tuning tips.  I just really like the look.
