First post, first bike, gotta convince wife !!

I'm looking at a 1981 CB 750 custom.  It has 44,000 miles on it.  Cranks up nicely and runs well.  I've just got to convince my wife to let me get it !!  She's weary of me getting a motorcycle to start with.  And we're trying to save to move into a bigger house.  So wish me luck !!!

Question:  What is the "custom" ?  I've seen the CB 750F and CB 750.  This is the first "custom" I've seen.

Also, I've read that they should get 49 MPG.  He says he's getting about 33-35.  Is that normal due to it's age ??

Well mpg depends on tune state. If it is running rich, it will have less.
As for your wife, have her sit on it and start the bike and have her rev it a few times. most will go for it right there.

I'll be bringing the bike home today or tomorrow.  I'm pretty excited - this is my first bike.
