RC01-1001305 on the frame

Hello forden34 - Im certainly no expert on this but there are others here that probably know these #s by heart. There should be more letters and numbers in your frame number. For instance my 81 CB750K has JH2RC0102BM200xxx - 17 numbers/letters. The 10th digit, B, in my case, means 1981. Hope this helps some. Do you have a title or any idea at all? Post a pic, most of the folks here can tell by looking!

It should have a steel, stamped plate on the triple-tree's head, below the handlebars. Look at it from the left side. It should have the year, in large letters, as well as the model (F, K, or C). Cheers!

I see from an earlier post that forden34 is over across the big pond somewhere. Sounds like a bike that maybe never left southeast Asia. Would that be why he is having a hard time finding info?

Patience, patience... Sometimes it takes a bit, especially if the information is not readily available.

Definitely between a 1979 and 1982 DOHC. If you were in Europe, I'd say it was a KZ based on that boattail, the comstar rims, and the dual front discs. Because its a bike from Japan though, I just don't know.
If I had to guess, I'd say it was a 1981 CB750 KZ based on this: http://honda-cb750-s.456789.n3.nabble.com/Honda-CB750KZ-1981-td3538624.html (that thread shows you what a 1981 KZ looks like basically brand new).
I find the pods you have on it interesting. If you're having trouble with the carbs and the carbs haven't been significantly jetted it might be easier to put a stock airbox back on. Getting pods to run right on these CV carbs is apparently not easy (but it's not going to stop me from trying...).
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

If you stand in front of your bike on the right side of the steering neck is there not any numbers stamped into it?

I have a Haynes manual for the DOHC CB750 motorcycles at home. I'll check it when I get home this weekend. There should be an engine number stamped into the right side of the engine case, just behind the cylinders. Don't worry if they don't match up: engines were built on one assembly line, and frames on the other.

Unfortunately all if the things you mentioned could easily be aftermarket changes. Sent from my BlackBerry device

I'm guessing the japanese vins are different than everywhere else which is why we're having such a hard time. Sent from my BlackBerry device
I think this will only work on sixteen digit vins. But You can try it out. http://www.motoverse.com/tools/vin/honda.asp
