ignition / alternators

hi im building an f2 cafe racer, i dont want to run any lights /starter motor etc daytime use only. can i remove the alternator completely and obviously the battery and all associated electrics. simply run some form of elecronic ignition and only have kick start cheers

It has to get 12V to the primary side of the ignition from somewhere. Whether points or electronic. So no...
Whatsmore, If you do away with the  battery you probably need a capacitor as well as the generator (alternator).

     Could Look deep into A Magneto set up
   There out there and will work ,but as I said going to take a lot of digging to get all the parts,UNLESS I'm sure there some new one's that will work .

cheers gents magneto set up would look superb , fit perfectly with the mix of modern and ol skool im trying to get. i live in the remote end of england so finding one mightprove challenging tho.will look along that route.

That is called " A total loss system" and you must retain the battery.

I don't think you will like it. Do you like being stranded constantly?

The battery will only last a short period, and the spark is getting weaker by the minute.

Cycle-X sells a slimmed down system. Smaller alternator etc.,.

The modern Magneto systems like the Honda VF1000R or F are only used to get the
bike started, not to run it completely like the old days. They still need the alternator.

They just have a fancier name for it.
