Help with a 1978 CB750A Hondamatic

msheffer1
Engine is running fine, so I suspect a tranny problem of some sort. Idle is great.  Revving the throttle is no problem, but when I put it in gear and attempt to take off it the throttle suddenly becomes very sluggish and it takes a 10 or 15 yards before it kicks-in and gains speed. Only sluggish under a load (i.e.  me).   Any suggestions on the possible causes  anda possible fix would be appreciated. Thanks.

Are you shure you are not in hi gear? You have a hi-lo set up and if you are in high, it might cause this.
Truthfully TOOLS could tell you more as he has an auto, I am not even sure the bike would even move from a stop in hi gear.

Mine will easily move my 270 pounds along with my future ex-wifes 120???? pounds from a stop in high gear, so yours should do the same. Does it do this all the time, or just when it is cold? These things are cold blooded.
