What kind of mileage are you getting before hitting reserve? And how far will reserve take you?

Just figured Id ask rather than discover the hard way. :)

I get around 38 to 40 mpg pushing it down the highway maintaining around 70 mph.  But as mentioned before, I'm on the large side.  On a recent ride in the mountains, I got 48, but it was a lot of riding 50 to 60, and 8 to 10,000 feet asl.  Depending on where I'm riding, I start looking for fuel around 150.  2 hours of riding and I'm ready to stand up and walk around a bit and take a pull off the water bottle.  I believe the F has a 5.1 gallon tank with 1.1 of it being the reserve.  I may be overcautious, but I don't like to get to the bottom of the tank and risk pulling any crap that has formed or taken up residence there.

Just get gas when you stop to change the rotor. You will never run out.

I fill up, reset my tripometer and i get about 120 miles before it starts to sputter, I have run out and had to switch to reserve a couple of times and one i remember distinctly, the tripometer said 137 miles. I do warm up my bike everytime i start it though so that eats gas. Never really sat down to figure out MPG just keep an eye on my tripometer.

I get 300 km/ 180 mi.

I get 50 t0 53 mpg.
But I only weigh 175.
Ran the tank to reserve, filled it, checked mileage then ran it to reserve again,
filled it.  Took just under 4 gallons, went a bit over 200 miles.

Looks like reserve gives you maybe a gallon.
You feel it falling onto itself, it's reserve time.
I know I've sweated it on reserve for just over 25 miles from home.

I used to reset the trip meter, now I just add 200 to whatever is showing on the odometer,
that's time to fill.

I'd run it down just for the heck of it while you're close to home, make sure alls good and get
a bit used to using it.

That 900 you have, 15 to 20 miles I'd think on reserve would be easy.

approx 275km [170 mi] to reserve; 1/4 tank left [as in, I went 275km, switched to reserve, rode until a garaged, and put in ~14ltr/3.7USgal].

I figure I'm good for 225 miles. but i ain't gonna take the chance!

Thanks guys. I've only filled up twice on this bike. First time at 100 ,second at 125 miles. First was 2.7 gallons and the second was 3.4 gallons. So if 4 gallons gets you to reserve looks like I can go 125+ easily. Thanks again for the help!

aaahhh, okay, an 823 with 900 cams and rods.
I just have a feeling, with the mods on your bike, it's gonna suck fuel a bit more than say a stock F model.
