How not to remove a CB750 engine.

My opinion.

He is handy with the saw and uses a 4 foot bar clamp to pry the carbs.
Takes the engine out without removing the top breather cap plate
AND THE oil filter housing like the book tells you!
Beats the instuments up while trying to wrestle the engine out.
Also heard a snapping sound when he stands on the kick starter to turn the engine over.
something snapped.
Puts in all on U Tube for the world to watch.
Don't worry though many will comment that he did an "amazing" job. LOl..lol

This is why kids need dads, or at least a workshop manual.

This is not to be done at home alone,

Unless you lost your common cents ,Oil every were,

YEAH he got it done but getting to the bottom of the stars shouldn't have to do with

Using water dispersant to free up a rusted bolt just doesn't work. Someone send him a can of PB blaster.

I watched this other day after I stared at my bike and considered trying to remove my engine alone.

called my buddy after.

To remove the engine.
Remove the front forks and swing arm, everything.

Remove all engine mount bolts except the front and rear bottom bolts.
Remove the nuts and foot peg from those bolts.

Remove the top breather cover from the engine. Just that small cover.
Remove the oil filter housing and oil filter.

Lay the frame on its right side on a sleeping bag or furniture blanket.

Remove the two engine mount bolts.
You are now ready to lift the frame off of the engine.
Look at the engine mount tabs and how the engine fits.
Move the frame around to clear the engine then lift the frame.

Trying to remove an engine mount bolt by tightening while beating on the threads with a claw hammer.
Friggin brilliant.
I see a future CL ad for a "Project Bike" after he's f-ed it up even more.

Exactly. Any mechanic worth their salt know that you LOOSEN while beating it with a claw hammer. Sheeesh. Some people....
