How to remove seat on 1993 Nighthawk - CB750

Texian
I have owned many motorcycles, but I cannot figure out how to take the seat off of this one.  Looked on youtube and my bike doesn't have the pull-down handle shown on the CB250 used in the only video I found. Bike has run perfectly, but I stopped on the road the other day and then when I pushed the starter I heard something under the seat and lost electrical so getting under there is pretty important :-)  Electric comes back in a couple of minutes and if I don't push the starter button I can pop-start the bike.  Big mystery for me. Anyone have any insight on my electrical issue as well?My Nighthawk

Usually there is a key latch somewhere. Check gently to see if your sidecovers come off. It might be under there. I don't know for sure. I have a manual but not on my home computer. I will see if I can get to it or find it online sometime tomorrow.

BTW, very nice bike you have there. I like that blue.

Thanks - it is weird that it seems so non-obvious. I have the key and I have messed around with the helmet lock several times - even lubed it in case it was hanging-up.  This is the only video I can find, but I don't have the little pull-down release on my bike.   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4q1sbnSt8c0

It should have a key switch for the seat. When you unlock the switch, you lift up on the rear of the seat, and it should come right off.

I found the manual and I will see about uploading it this weekend. It says to turn the seat lock and slide it back to take the seat off.

I made some time and uploaded the manual on our manuals section. Click and it will open, then you can download it.

Thanks for all of your help, and the nice words about my bike!  I finally found the keyhole on the tail light - DOH!  The bike looks brand new under the seat but so far nothing obvious.  Thanks again for all of the personal attention to my plight

I'm new to this thread. I'm glad you solved your seat problem and I'm hoping you can help me solve mine. Your bike looks great! I have a 1993 in black that also looked great until recently when it was stolen by meth heads who tore off the fenders, etc. Anyway, I'm trying to put the jigsaw puzzle back together and I'm trying to figure out the proper routing for the seat lock cable. I need to "see" how it goes from the seat latch to the key lock. I realize this would require some disassembly of the tail section, but I can't find a schematic or diagram that shows the route that the cable follows. If anyone knows where I could find a diagram of this or could post a picture of this I would be most grateful.
