I sold this yesterday A 1982 Kawasaki KZ 750 LTD
Listed it on craigslist at 10:00 AM, and had 4 people racing to my house by 3:00 PM to buy it. I had taken it in on trade, for this. A 1981 Kawasaki KZ 750 LTD.
However this morning I went and picked up this.
1976 CB 750 F. Good engine, and title. Sat in shed since 1984.
I also brought this home tonight.
It's a 1977 CB 750 K model. Was is a bad wreck that busted the stator cover, and locked up the engine. I am hoping that when I remove the cover, and stator that the engine will free up. It has new Dunlop tires, and perfect rims. I also have the tank, and Corbin seat that were on it. Bad news is that the title was lost.
This also came home with me tonight.
A 1976 CB 750 A Hondamatic Only 6,000 original miles. Still has the Tool kit, owners manual, kickstarter, and the little rubber cap that covers the kickstarter shaft (this is the only one I have ever seen !) Bad news is, it belongs to my buddy Gerald. TOOLS

Very nice pick-up! You definitely have a little bit of a passion going over there...
Turbos, Hondas, 4-bangers, what could go wrong?

I have 4 complete matics, and one parts engine. Then I have 2 matics at the moment that belong to Gerald, and a 400 matic (which I am doing some restoration work on, for an article to be published in the Vintage Japanese Motorcycle Club magazine) that belongs to another friend in my possession at the moment. I am strongly fighting the urge to run through them naked. TOOLS

Obviously my thing is Honda's, but I like those KZs. Buddy of mine is riding one out from Minnesota to come visit me in California as we speak. I had my doubts about that bike but so far the word is it's holding up just fine (and even went through snow flurries this morning).
TOOLS, do you know if that's the stock seat on the 82? He has one of those ones where the driver's portion swings up on a hinge to access the battery, so you don't have to take the whole thing off. The passenger's portion stays put. We couldn't figure out if it was as mod or not.
Another friend and I were working on his KZ1000 earlier this month. A great barn-find that had sat for 10 years. Rebuilt the carbs and gave them a nice synch and the thing fired right up. Sounded like 1000 hell-beasts ushering in the apocalypse.

The 82-83 had the one piece seat. The 80-81 had the two piece seat. If you notice the second picture is of an 81 that I had. It was like brand new. I took the 82 in on trade, for it. Those Kawasaki's are pretty reliable. I have a 95 KZ 1000 P-14 Police bike that has 99,978 miles on it. Runs great, but I don't ride it because it needs the brakes gone through, and I could not squeeze the clutch because of an injury to the nerves in my left shoulder. I keep thinking I should sell it, but I can't bring myself to do it. Somewhere on the forum there is a picture of it.
Here is a picture of my other Kawasaki I have. It's also a KZ 750.

I guess he had the 81 then. I really like the design of those engines too, with the extra tall fins by the plugs. Bummer about the crankshaft. That shattered stator cover makes me shudder.

Good find on the bent crank! The case looks undamaged, too. You probably have a spare crank and stator cover. I have a spare stator cover that needs a small crack welded up if you need one.
Oh,and I totally forgot about that rear hub. I'll hop on that when I get in tomorrow.

LOL, there must be one of those SOHC's in every barn out where you are.
I have literally never seen a SOHC 750 in person. Not a single time. I'm starting to think that they were simply never sold here until the DOHC's were introduced because DOHC 750's and 900's are everywhere.
