VERY purty.  Just take your time, and do it right.  Looking forward to the finished product.

How about powdercoating everything on a bike: frame, fenders, tank, bars, side covers...  Wouldn't have to worry about waxing or polishing.

Thanks Luke. I am taking my time with it. Cleaning the engine alone to paint it took most of the day. I can't pwder coat the tank I am using due to bondo. I don't mind polishing. I can't wait til it's finished, especially since this is the only bike I have right now.

Re-run

Engine is looking really good. I am hoping to pull mine apart and refresh it this winter if I can get a space heater! The black looks good, I was thinking of the same thing except masking the very ends of the fins to give it contrast. I saw that once and it was nice.

What high temp paint did you go with?
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Great idea re-run. I was going to do the same but by the time I cleaned everyting up I was way too tired. I may hit the ends of the fins with a sander and see how that looks. If it works then I will post them. I want to get this done cause I don't want to finish this up in the cold!

A lot of work Vern but well worth it. My engine is sitting on the work bench on my back porch. I stop and admire it coming in and out. Going to look SWEET in my powder coated frame (if I ever get it back).

After two weeks of no progress I got some stuff done today. Cylinders honed, new rings in, and a valve job to include new valve stem seals. Should have the rest buttoned up tomorrow. Still waiting for my frame from the powder coaters...uggghhh!!!!

Couldn't get to putting the cams in today so I painted the side covers. Turned out pretty cool. Should have the motor all together tomorrow and then into the frame. More to come!

More done today. Got the front end off the donor bike, painted up and on the new frame. Got the rear tire on and the rear fender fabbed. Put the kickstand on and now she is on her won legs. My boy Mark, without who I would never have got this far, is going to try to get her wired up next weekend. Starting to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Got the carbs cleaned and back on. Made a seat but not real happy with it. Also cleaned and rebuilt the master cylinder. Thankfully the parts were still good. Just a bunch of sludgy brake fluid to clean out.

Looks like you are going to win the contest to get started first. I haven't had time to even look at mine. It is comming along quite nicely.
