Just snatched this up

alehman
Found this today. immediately called and picked it up.

http://providence.craigslist.org/mcy/3198816174.html

if the listing no longer works, the bike can be described as follows.

1979 K, 9400 miles. Worked the price down to 400 bucks. All papers were in order. carbs that came with it  needed a full rebuild, but I swapped in a set I just rebuilt and cleaned from my erstwhile project bike (also a '79K) and it fired right up. Even with the carbs not yet synced, it idles at 1500 rpm and as smoothly as I could hope for. Headers have a little rust and the paint on the tank is slightly worn on the top, but otherwise the seat and everything else is in perfect condition. The rubber parts everywhere on the bike feel new and soft. With the bike having only 9400 miles on it, I don't know what the previous owner was (or wasn't) doing with it, but today was a good day.

Beautiful bike.

I basically have the same one, just an 81 and mine has wayyyy more km's on it (89K km's).  Mine is running strong and I plan on seeing that odometer go around.

Thanks guys. It's a great way to end the summer. Seestheday, 89K is massive. how many did you put on the bike yourself?

EDIT: just noticed you meant kilometers, not miles. Still, that's quite a bit. What's the highest anyone here has seen on an odometer of a smooth-running CB750?

nice!

I got my 79L for 375 in april...still dont have it running yet. carbs are finally almost done because of some issues with the brass not wanting to come out. Also had to get a bunch of other stuff. So today is battery and the oil and assembly. we will see how this goes tonight.

sweet looking bike you have there tho. real jealous yours just works :p
