Kickstand

Kevin Poirier
Hello,

I am the new owner of a 1982 CB750K, I got it cheap from a friend, after it sat in his garage for a long time. I finally got it to run (after several hundreds $ of tender love and care - there is no cheap bike).

This is only my second bike, but I have never had this problem before, ...

The bike keeps on falling down when it sits on the kickstand, and I can't figure out why.
It seems like it off balance enough for the wind to push it over.

Has anyone had this problem before, or has any idea how I can fix it?

Thank you.

Kevin

Re: Kickstand

willie!!!
Never had that problem, but couldn't you weld the appropriate sized piece onto the stand?

Sounds bent.

Or if it's tipping the other way, cut a piece out and re-weld

Which way does it lean? That will give you your answer for which suggestion willie gave you. My question is why it happened in the first place. Usually a person either put on shorty shocks or longer. Maybe measure the shock from eye to eye and see what the length is.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!

Without a pic it's hard to tell, but I believe that kickstand has a metal part, and a long rubber part that screws into it...  if there's no rubber coming off the side/bottom of it, I'd check ebay for parts or make a metal piece to permanently replace it.  Good luck!
