LOOKING FOR A 1978 CB750 FRONT CALIPER....

caferboi69

Hi All, new to the forum. I'm a proud owner of a 1978 cb750k. Purchase for $800. I did the tank polishing, re-cover the seat into a cafe look, clubman bar, etc. but now I'm looking for a front caliper, my bleeder valve is broken off, no front brake at this time. i don't know much about older bike, but i've learn alot with this one. I don't know what to do about the brake, any advice?

Just drill out any parts of the bleeder from the caliper using a tap and go in reverse to pull it out. then clean up the threads and buy a new bleed valve.

I agree. I don't know about yours, but I have a 76 K bike and I looked for weeks for a front caliper. Never did find one. Anyway, better off trying to drill the old one out. And if you screw it up, you haven't lost a thing.

Another option would be to use an ez-out and see if it will come out.
Second option would be to see if there is a boneyard in your area to get a caliper.
Third, check through out online list. davidsilverspares.com has parts like this but sometimes their site is not too responsive but it is over in the UK.
Finally, ebay. If you go ebay, you want this style of caliper.

Sometimes the listers have no clue what they are talking about so make sure you know what it looks like.

Try the easy out first. The calipers are expensive. I have seen them go as high as $125.00, Also from the picture it looks like you have an F, and not a K. the ca the two.The calipers are different between the two.

Nope, that is a K model. The F has dual front disks and a disk rear and uses comstars.

The caliper looks like an F model. The line is in the center, and not the rear. Also the caliper bolts are going in from the outside, and not the inside.

Calipers on the F are mounted behind the leg though. Most likely his K has had the dual disk conversion done. The f legs are also black.
