Motad exhaust & centre stand

helvetica
My 750KZ has an aftermarket motad exhaust (4 into 1) which I don't love, but it will do until I find a replacement (see sig). The problem is there is no brace to stop the centre stand from hitting the exhaust and motad don't make one. Has anyone ran into this and custom-made an elegant solution? we angle grinded an old spanner in half and it looks the mutt's nuts (as in it actually looks like an old dog's balls, nasty) and would love to hear your ideas!

I can post a pic of the atrocity if you want to have a laugh

MOTAD_UK
the motad bracket includes a centre stand stop- may be an earlier owner has modified it

are you sure you have a Motad?

I will let the motad guy help you on the exhaust but as for a stop, you could get some high temp rubber about 2 inches long and cut a groove in the middle, not too deep and then zip tie or hose strap it to the bike frame at a location that is hidden and will stop the stand from hitting the exhaust. Cheap and easy and should last a number of years.
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
