I started tearing the doner engine apart. When I took the head off my buddy said "that's what my lungs must look like"  He smoked, for years. Anyway, the pistons are stuck, and I have them covered with PB Blaster. I hope in a few days I will be able to get the cylinder off. In the mean time. I am ordering parts.

This is going to be a badass build.

Looking forward to it!

Mortal Vindication is scheduled to get underway again in may. I should have this finished before then. Depending on how long it takes the 836cc pistons to get here from Japan. All the parts have been ordered, however there was a snag with the Cycle-X carbs. Turns out that in order to use them on a stock frame, you have to modify the two tubes behind the carbs. My buddy did not want to do this, so we are sticking with the round-tops.
And the spigots, yes the engine has spigots. It's a K-1 engine. I am not sure about them. Do, you need a set?

The head, cylinder, and pistons went to the machine shop today. The head will get some new valves, and guides. Along with a shave to bring the compression up from 9:1 to 10.5:1. The heavy duty valve springs will also be installed. And it will get the ports cleaned up. The cylinder will be bored, and honed to fit the new pistons. Then I will get to reassemble it with the WEB Cam 63a cam, and adjustable cam chain sprocket, so I can degree the cam in. The bike has a 16" rear tire, and we are going to install a 19 tooth front sprocket. This bike should surprise some crotch rockets.

P.S. I give the stock clutch 6 months.

How much gain can you expect with a raise in compression like that? And what octane is neened?I know the rule of thumb on the cars I fool with is 3-5% per 1 point of compression hp gain, and 10.5:1 was the max streetable comp ratio for aluminum heads

If you and your buddy don't mind, could you let us know what the tab is on this build?I would love to know how much money to start squirreling away!

The pistons came in the other day. They got here a lot faster then I expected. I took the head, pistons, and cylinder to a place in Raymore, MO called "Russel Karting" They specialize in high performance small engines. They are going to do the valves, and seats in the head, and shave it, for 10.5:1 compression. Bad part is they are very busy, and it might be two weeks before they get them finished. Right now I an trying to convince my Buddy he does not need the whole rotating assembly balanced. He hardly ever takes it to 5K rpm, and the extreme $$$$$$$$$ it would cost to balance it would not be justifiable. He has decided to change the exhaust from the MAC 4 into 1, to Drag Pipes. I can't wait to hear this thing run!

This build has officially caught my attention! As I will be taking my engine out and opening up the top end, I've been toying with the idea of getting an 836 kit

Stopped by the machine shop today. They said they should get to my parts this week. I hope they do! I will have three weeks off, and would love to get on this. If I had sent them to Cycle one I would have had them last week, for sure.

I think he wants to go with a dark charcoal. I just hope he does not want to do the cases to. I wonder if it would need to get hot enough to hurt anything besides seals.
