My Dremel died. Update Dremel is Awesome!!!!!!

Yesterday I was using my Dremel, and it just stopped running. I tried plugging it into other outlets, thinking that might be the problem, but it still would not run. It is a model 395 type 5 that I bought in 1993. I guess 22 years is a pretty good run for a well used power tool, but I refuse to sign the death certificate, so I googled "dremel repair" and came up with this http://www.dremel.com/en-us/customerservice/productsupport/ServiceAndRepair/Pages/default.aspx I then clicked on "repair time and charges" and saw that the maximum repair charge for my tool would be $32.00, and if they could not repair it for that amount, they would send me an upgrade for that amount. I paid $80.00 for it in 1993. I could not believe it, so I called the phone# and spoke with a very nice lady in customer service. It's true  She took my info, and e-mailed me a form to fill out, and include with the tool when I send it to them. I am off to the post office.

That is unheard of customer service!

I like to think I'm a fairly nice guy, and not particularly greedy, but if you bought a Dremel form me 22 years ago and wore it slap out...well, I'm selling you another one. lol

oh ya,  while the 395 was broke, my wife  went and bought me a dremel 400.  the 400  is great and all you have to do to change brushes is open a trap door on top and bottom.   I sure am spoiled.

PS   utube has  great videos on how to do it

You guys will not believe this, but UPS just dropped off a package at my door. It contained a new Model 3000 Dremel, and some accessory's. Also a very nice letter apologizing for any inconvenience I have had with my Dremel failing, and that mine had been evaluated, and they were giving me an upgrade at NO COST to me. Dremel is AWESOME!!!!
