New development leaking carbs

Cabreco
Started Fiona today after a few weeks. I noticed that she was dripping gas from the bottom of the 2 left carbs. (not from the overflow)

She started fine (after some coaxing) & ran ok.

I shut the petcock off & she kept running ok but the leak stopped. I let it run until she wanted to stall then I reopened the petcock & she started to leak a few seconds later.

Without yet breaking her down, I am thinking the fuel line cracked or she would have been leaking gas even though I shut the petcock right?

Is there anything else I should look for?

No, not exactly. If it was leaking because the float/needle was not working properly allowing the carb to overflow, it would stop filling when you shut the petcock off and stop leaking. Try tapping on the carbs with a soft mallet/screwdriver handle/block of wood... and see if it stops leaking.

On mine it was the o-ring between carbs 1 and 2. The fuel inlet pipe mounts between the carbs. The o-ring shrinks and drys out when the fuel is off for a long time. Let it leak for a bit and it may swell up again . I just never turn  the fuel off now. LOL

Tools I think you may be right, I'll start with tapping the carbs but I think a good cleaning is overdue.

Rich, I also never turn off the fuel on Fiona. Unlike my Electra Glide that will stick up the garage & leak like a sieve if I keep the petcock open!

Tools you called it. I tapped the float bows on carbs 1&2, fired hr up then opened the petcock. Problem solved - dry as a bone.

I figure she is due for a good carb cleaning so I will probably do it after I finish the Harley sprocket.
