New member looking for brat tips.

schacdaddy82
Howdy guys, I just bought a 1980 cb750f ss and already started chopping it up in an attempt to create a brat style 750. I've been looking at alot of pictures trying to figure out all the tricks for doing so but im a little stumped on some things. First is where is everyone hiding their batteries? I bought a mini 12v lithium battery after seeing halfcaf's build but still dont know where to mount it.

Im sure ill have more questions as the build goes on but if someone could shed some light on this for the time being that would be awesome!

Im also bulding the seat out of an old skateboard in an attempt to save some $ so ill try to post some pics as it comes along to see what you guys think. Thanks again!

Some people make a little battery box and mount it to the frame just above the swingarm pivot. You still want a box to protect the battery.

I have heard of people chopping the tank and creating a space for a battery. the battery is not in the tank of course, but in the space that was created. You lose some fuel capacity doing this.

Or just make a battery box out of stainless steel or something else shiny or otherwise nice to look at and mount put in there.

Most people mount them under the rear of the seat right above the tire. You do not see them, but the rear tires hit them when you hit bumps. Just remember when building a "Brat/Cafe" function follows form.
