Well Im a new member here so I thought I would show you guys and gals what I ride. My current project, the winter blues, is on the lift and being converted into a (dreaded I know) cafe racer so actually looks nothing like that right now. Pics will follow when that one is done, and my pride and joy is in front of the lift, a 2009 USA Choppers Bad Boy, rigid frame custom chopper! Love that bike, ride it everywhere, and no the hardtail doesnt bother me! Well without further ado, here you go, a little eye candy for you!
I know enough to get me in trouble.

HHHHMMM Nice. You could make a Brat out of the 81. They have a little more style then the Cafes But I am sure not mater. what you do it will look good. Just remember the picture.
Do you have a build thread going. If not start one up. We all like to look. Some even give their two cents.
Simple if some one else can, why can't I

I think he has his "Brat" look a bit more "Spoiled Brat" Very nicely done,
Blockheads are one of the last good models to come out of Millwakee or Pa. or K.C..
Heck take that C.B. cafe the $h!^ out of it and run it like ya stole it

Thats a nice pair! I really dig that springer If a cafe is what you want-go for it! I love mine. It's a pile of fun. Warning- a cafe style bike will make you always want to go fast.lol There's something about leaning on a low set of bars-clubmans,clip-ons,superbike,etc...-that really messes with your head Like i said,I love mine.
Oh,and for the record, our resident ''cafe hater'' is building one himself.
|
|
Thanks guys! Is the resident cafe hater Tools by any chance? LOL I dont have a build thread going but I can start one if you all would like. Unfortunately the chopper was not built by me, it was built by USA Choppers a local shop to me and I absolutely love it, been to Sturgis and back twice, 2600 miles round trip, and going to biketoberfest this year, been to the tail of the dragon too many times to count and it never lets me down! As for the Honda I have to say this is my first time building, or rebuilding, or converting(whatever you want to call it) a bike and I can NOT wait to get this thing done and on the road! Shiny, I have a killer set of clubmans on their that feel like a pretty good riding position when Im sitting on it, 6 foot tall and I dont feel cramped on it. I have to say I dont really care for the brat look, something about the cafe style that I really dig, its almost ready to be put back together just buttoning up a few things, hoping to get it on the road by next weekend. Spoiled brat, thanks Piute lol!

I've been thinking about replacing the stock seat on my '84 Shadow with a springer, like you have on the chopper. Trouble is, the "receiver" for the front of the stock seat is a square deal, and I'd have to fab up some sort of plug+hinge thing, and then mount the back of the seat somehow.
Any ideas?

OK first thing: Cafe's are and have always been COOL! I been a fan of them long before they were the latest rage in the Hipster wanna be circles. I was so screwed up, I rode one in the early '80s when very few were around and hardley anyone remembered them from the first time around... especially here in the states!
Are you going to swap out that factory exhaust? if so, it will gett a pretty penny on e-bay if it is in as nice shape as it looks. The whole bike looks nice for that matter. Congrats!
Next: Nice Chop you got there.. big money I am sure, way outta my league. If a hard tail is done right, they ride pretty well. I am thinking about picking up a kit for a CB450 I got.
Lastly: I finally saw your offer on my "Parts Wanted" post. If you still have the gas cap lock, I'll take it. I sent you an e-mail from here at work but included my Home e-mail addy just in case.

Thanks Hoosier, actually on the chop you would be surprised on the cost it wasnt that much when I had it built 4 yrs ago. I got your email and Im trying to send one back to you but my email server is acting stupid and not sending them out, I will try again later, I do still have the part so its yours if you want it, again I will try to email later. Im loving the cafe look cant wait to get it finished lol. Luke they make all kinds of kits you can buy to convert your seat, they have round mounts, square mounts, and everything in between. How are your welding skills? You could always cut off the old mounts and reweld in a new one, check www.chopershox.com those are what I have on that bike, they make entire seat pan kits as well as shocks, you just have to weld on all the brackets and supports. Hope that helps, and thanks for looking!

I hear ya Piute, there is nothing like the feeling you get riding through the Black Hills on your machine. I cant describe it, its very powerful, some of if not the best riding I have done to date. I cant wait to hit biketoberfest this year, it will be my first time, and Im debating about which bike to ride, the chop or the honda, just slightly worried about a 32yr old bike riding 1800 miles round trip, plus whatever I ride while there. I know the chopper will get me there and back and look pretty good while Im at it lol. I guess I'll just have to see on that one, my test for a long ride will be my trip to the tail of the dragon in June, should be a 1k plus weekend of riding so we'll see how she does!

http://biketoberfest.org/ Take the "Spoiled" 1,Chicks love H.D.'s and dumb one's only know them,
Most all these BIGG events are Harley dominated,
I've never been to any bigg event East of the Miss.
TIME is to far away to say "I'm going",
"TAIL OF THE DRAGON" that I'm going don't know when but am,have Fam. in Tenn.
need to visit while out that way or way back.
There are so many BIGG events here in Ozarks that I'm going to that can't even
remember what & when they are,"Buffalo Run","B.B.& Bar-BQ","TRAIL OF TEARS"
are just off the top that I'm hitting again this year ON my 750.

Puite, Im hitting the tail of the dragon first week in June. Its an annual run for me and my buddies, this year however instead of the Harley, the Winter Blues CB750 will be taking its place! Cant wait to be able to really lean into the turns without scraping my pegs, happens every time on the chopper! Yeah for Biketoberfest I am probably going to take as you put it, the "Spoiled" 1, that cracks me up, spoiled lol! There are alot of great roads to ride in Tennessee, Georgia, and the Carolinas, cant wait its always a great trip! I need to head out your way someday as well, I hear there are alot of great rides out that way!

Just figured I would update this thread with my finished winter blues project! Still have a little tweaking here and there but she is back together and running like a champ! It was cold today, 36 degrees, so I really didnt have a chance to put her through her paces, but I really didnt feel the cold at all! So here she is, a 1981 CB750K converted to a cafe racer, her she is WINTER BLUES!!!!
