Hello everyone!
Well after years of wanting a bike I finally got my dream bike. A 70's CB750four. I have wanted one ever since I saw my first one. Well I finally got one! It's actually a pretty cool story, so feel free to keep reading or scroll to the bottom for the pics!
It all started about 5 months ago. My dad is a realtor and one day he gave me a call. He said this house he is selling has a bike for sale. It was a 1982 Honda Goldwing. I definitely wasn't in the market for a goldwing but it was such a good deal I had to pick it up! I loved riding it and drove it all the time. Well one day I was cruising Craigslist when I stumbled upon an ad wanting to sell his 750 or trade for a goldwing. I thought eh what the heck I'll shoot him a message. Well he calls me and we decide to meet up. Came home that day with a new bike! My dream bike!
So without further ado here is my bike as it sits today (literally took the pics today :p)
But first my Goldwing which I traded. (bad pics sorry!)
It ran great but cosmetically a little rough.
And now here is the 750
I love it!
It is lowered a couple inches, straight bar, 4 into 1 exhaust, new seat (want a stock one someday), lots of cleaning/polishing/replacing. Overall I'm super happy with how it looks.
I'm looking for some ideas of what else to do? I'd love to find a nice fairing that I can put on when needed...
What do you guys think!? What would you guys appraise this at just out of curiosity?

Yep Indiana. Anyone got one close? Or even a little drive would be fine :)
Would the fairing work ok with my straight bar? I've never seen a cb's fairing in person haha

If the one's they have are not what your looking for ,you can make just about any small fairing fit do you wont a full (Gold-wing)or something like a Cafe look,Then you could also get a clamp on shield thats all clear but there kind of shakey at high speeds 70+ if there wide enoigh to cover hands ,I use one on my KZ just for winter or rain.well my brothers bike now, good luck heres mine well, once my cuzz sends it from Alaska, were both pretty busy

thats a really sweet looking fairing. I'll have to look into those as well. They look better and are probably easier to take on and off.

Love the orange! (It's my favorite color)
Glad to hear you've been enjoying the bike

Took the bike on my first long-ish trip today. It was only 3 hours but it was a pleasant ride! My arms/chest where a little tired of being hit by the wind. But the bike is running great even at those high rpm's on the interstate. 49MPG Can't complain about that either.

Good to hear that you were able to get a good ride in. Best feeling in the world, isn't it?

Welcome! Thats a really sweet bike and great story, just add the flaring but don't take it apart. I wouldn't change a thing on it!
|
|
So I found a really nice crash bar online for 10 bucks and I went ahead and got it. He said it was on his 70's cb but I haven't seen a 750 with crash bars in person does this one look right? Also, what are the mounting points for it?
This is not my crash bar but it is the exact same style
I'm not 100% I even want them on but thought I'd at least try them out. Might be good to have highway pegs like the ones above as well. Is this an easy off on kind of thing?

It installs with two U-bolt clamps to the down tubes on the top, and the lower mounts will either mount to the engine mounts, or there will be another piece that mounts to the engine mount, and then the ones on the crash bar will mount to them. I use clamp on highway pegs I got from JC Whitney. Easy to install, and I can adjust where they are.
