No power. No clue.

Muscle racer
Hey guys.

I went on vacation for a month, and parked the bike. I empty the tank and wrapped it up in tarp. When I got back, I fired her up and let her run for 10 min. Everything was working at that point.

Then when I took it on the highway, I felt a small loss of power. Then 30 secs later, it just turned off.

I had to push it over a mile in 90 degree weather. Not fun.

I took the battery to walmart, and the guy said the battery was fully charged. I took it back, and still no signs of life. I checked the fuses, and they were all intact.

All the wires are still connected. What else could it be???

The battery is charged, and I get no headlight, no tail light. Nothing. Like there's no battery.

Pls help.

Thanks

I really like my bike, but there's ALWAYS something going wrong. Im starting to lose interest.

It's a 78 750k. It only has 20k miles, so it still has a lot of life.

Could it be ignition coils? Would the lights still turn on with dead coils?

It's parked in front of church, so I need to push it somewhere else if
I can't figure it out. Lol.

Since it's at the church, have the priest bless it!

Time to check things with a multi tester.

Have you checked the fuses?

It's probably the main fuse, or the fuse holder/box. The fuse box's on these bikes are JUNK!!!!!! The wire connections on the back go bad all the time. You need to use a test light, and check, for electricity at both sides of the fuse. I usually just cut the fuse box's off, and replace them with wire in blade type fuse holders, and use a 30 amp blade type breaker, for the main. Costs about $15.00, and no more problems.

A little while back.  I had about the same thing happen.  What I ended up doing, was first check wire connections.  First thing I did, was unplug and check connections on the regulator/rectifier.  one didn't look right, pulled the blade connector out a little, plugged it back in and "Ta Da!"  Electrical power was back.
