cam chain rattle

katman
Okay guys, Went for a ride on myy 77 while restoring the 75. After carb sync, valve and cam chain
adjustment(have tried everyway possible) I still get noise when you first crank up and it's cold.
Once the bike is warm you hear nothing and it' runs like a champ. Is this something I need to be concerned with. Bike has 23,000 miles. Shiny and Tools, what your thoughts.
Thanks

Get a long dowel, put it to your ear, then put the other end on the motor and firgure out just where the noise is coming from...Then maybe they can tell you if it is something to worry about.  My guess is the clutch is what you are hearing.  Does it get better if you pull in the lever?

Does it go away when, you give it throttle?

Yes it does go away when throttle is advanced. Once it's warmed up you don't hear it at all.
I'll try the clutch lever thing.

I would not worry about it then. However I would recheck the carb sync.
