Opportunity missed

Beekeeper
Last night I was looking at the local for sale postings under bike parts.  I've been sorta half hearted watching for a 79 to 83 DOHC engine to play with this winter.  Not really sure what I wanted to do with it, maybe get a wiseco kit or something like that.  A guy had listed 2 engines, one running when bike was wrecked and another one that was missing the stator, but was otherwise all there and not seized.  Also had some C parts, turn signals, tail lights, rack and back rest, etc.  All for 300 bucks.  Seemed like it was a good deal, but it was late so I waited to call until this morning.  Already gone!  Sheesh.  Didn't realize that stuff would be in such demand around here.  I don't see that many old Hondas  running around when I'm out and about.

Bummer! I watch CL pretty regular. I usually miss deals because I'm too cheap to spend the cash, but sometimes you just have to jump. When I bought my lathe I found the ad at 4 am and I sent an email right away. In the email I told them my usual lines: "VERY interested...cash in hand....can pay right away". I also put my phone number in there and tell them to feel free to call 24/7. Well, I sent the email and had a phone call within 5 minutes. Less then 12 hours later I had it home.

You gotta jump! Better luck next time.

Yes beekeeper, I watch our local classifieds (kijiji) for bikes and sellers get multiple calls within a day of posting.  You really have to keep up hourly if you want to grab a deal, but then you have to get a hold of the seller while they are around lol.    three hondas popped up yesterday on sale, and of course fall is a buyer's market!
most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handelbars to the saddle.

I've been rebuilding the forks and calipers on the Oldwing, and haven't been as diligent looking at the KSL postings.  And with snow predicted later in the week also trying to get a few rides in.  Winter is fast approaching, and I'm just not ready.
