Picked up my new toys today.

I got alot more than I bargained for.It was supposed to be a '78 K motor,a wheel ,a cut up frame and an engine that scared the previous owner so he never rode it.He was gonna chop it and sell it instead.Word around the camp fire is the engine is "built". I have no idea, kinda doubt it and wont really consider it as such, but at least that means it is good and healthy! Ended up with a title,a truck bed full o' fun and a $200 lighter wallet.

Bad news is where he cut the frame I think a cycle one kit will be outta the question.Looks like I'll be making my own tubes. Oh well, time to start collecting parts for a -hopefully-near in my future build.

Hardtail?Softtail?Bobber? Tracker?....maybe i'll just make a ShinyribberGot lots of extra parts,so will definitely be peddling my wares.Add in the for sale area to come soon,I need the space.

Rolling chassis, yes.I have all the controls I need and every part to both the front and rear brakes. Both tanks are completely rust free and all 3 wheels look good. One rear wheel is drum and one is disc.I'll most likely use the drum wheel even though it is a 17". Very minor rust on the forks and the motor is still free after 10 yearsEverything will need gone through, but I doubt any of it will need replacing.

I meant to get a pic of the frame to see if there is enough left for a hard tail kit or not. Instead I started goofing off my the seat i picked up and Pops' old RoadStar tank. Tank has a cool side profile, but is stoopid wide.

Yea how about a Bobber with a lead spring! No wait that's my deal. I was kicking around a torsion rear suspension. That would be fun build. Good luck!
Making Laps, Twisting the Throttle and Cruzz control, it just don't get any better!

It's about time That frame is perfect, for a Cycle-one hardtail kit. The top tube gets cut at 16" down from the head, and the bottom tubes get cut at 8 1/2" from the bottom front motormounts. BTW I love that tank, and I want first dibs on parts.

You like the RoadStar tank? I do too,but it's too big for my tank. It got replaced when Dad laid it down.He got run into a ditch by an old man up the creek that cant see too well. The tank really doesn't look bad and I dont know why it got replaced,to be honest. I think the hollow area on top would be a great place to mount all of the switches and indicators to clean up the handle bar area. I dont have a cap for it but if you want it just holler at me.

Bobbers are cool and I do want one,but I really want to build something comfortable enough for long rides. I'm really leaning towards a street tracker style, but this hacked frame almost seems like an omen for me to put on a hardtail kit. It's decision time and I am wishy washy. Of course,a "street tracker" is basically a cafe with modern looking wheels and brakes and superbike bars...and thats about it. Too close to what I already got. I need something different.

But I am really wanting to mount a mono-shock on something.A tracker would be cool with a mono...

My tunnel vision is much stronger than my fore sight. If ever get pointed in a direction I'm on it.Otherwise I never get started at all. We'll see what develops...

Oh yea the cycle one kit is cleaner! You can order any stretch/ride height, you want. They also offer two different axle plates. I went with the old style HD ones. I also have a total of 4" stretch, and a 5" ride height on MV. I thought the stretch would make it more comfortable. Just give Kate a call, and she will give, you a price quote, for anything, you want. Tell her I sent, you, and she will add 10% commission, for me.

I wonder if more or less stretch handles better? I know a longer car rides smoother. Is that true on bikes too?
I want the perfect balance between smoothness and handling? What should I go with on that?

Fatter the frnt tire less rake, after a while you can handle any bike ,I can't lock cruzz and stand on my seat yet to not fully ajusted I think you could Kong the frame yourself ,with Pops help.get A big bore N make A 6-8inch over swing arm, same shocks n mounts .and that baby will stck to the ground

That's Juan. Juan was built, and owned by John Hughs in FL. He is a Matic Fanatic like me. Anyway I know John, and Juan have made the trip across Alligator Ally.. And that is a hard ride on a cruiser. John carried extra gas , for the trip, but had no problems. The longer the bike the better it will ride. That is how the guy's back in the old days could ride those choppers all day long at 90 MPH. And they did not even use sprung seats.
