Piston rings!

Hello guys,

I bought new pistons rings( RIK ) for my 72 cb750. How are they supposed to be?

The chrome one on the top, dark one middle, both with the marks up, right?

Then the oil ring, my stock was not a 3split oil ring, but theese are. Does it matter?

Then the placement of the rings, the 2 top rings should be 180 degree from each other? And the thin oil rings should be?

I don't know if you have done so already, but we should have a Factory Service manual for your bike on the home page of our forum.  I'm pretty sure the location of the ring gaps are specified there.  If not, I'm confident someone with a similar machine will pipe in with the right info.

You pretty much have it there, just stagger the oil rings. However there is a diagram for ring placement in the factory service manual. If you do not have it, you can download it for free from the manuals section on the top of the home page here.

"stagger" Good question! As many words in the English language it can have many meanings, so I can understand the confusion. In this instance it would mean place the ring gaps at different places.
