Re-Painting?

Freerider90
I've been thinking about having my 1979 CB 750 K repainted. Before I make up my mind though, I would like to hear other CB750 owners opinions as to whether I should re-paint it or leave it original. Also, any sugestions as to what would be a good color scheme are welcome. Thanks for your opinions!

If the tank if straight and the paint in reasonable condition then I like the look of an orginal paint job, particually if it has faded a bit.  Mine was not in very good condition so I re-sprayed.  It looks like an old bike having a mid-life crisis.

I'm repainting mine, too.  It's all original and in darn good shape so I found another tank and side panels to refinish instead...

fwiw I went somewhat original -- kept the white but pearled it.

I decided to go stock with everything [gotta get a stock pipe and do something about my recovered seat] . . . but it's your bike, have a blast.

Thanks for the advice, y'all. I think Pearl White is a good idea, maybe with Blue pinstriping. It has a Windjammer Fairing on it, black, should I paint that to?

Match original colors by finding the paint codes. A friend of mine had a manual that gave that information on all honda motorcycles. . .but I can't remember what it was called. Sorry. I'm no Expert. as for the honda Symbol on the tank, I think that most of the older ones are decals... Mine is the only one I've ever seen up close however, as these motorcycles were a bit before my time. hope this helps.

Hi,
I want to get my cb750 10th anniversary edition repainted. The previous owner painted the entire thing black. In anyway, I looked around on the internet and found somebody who does paint vintage motorcycles. www.knkcycles.com/custompainting-honda-750.htm
I haven't tried them yet, but it would be worth looking into.

I did my 74 in as close to original as I could find. Reproduction decals has the decals if you want
to keep it looking stock. Even though some custom paint jobs look great, I have noticed that
when you get away from stock the value can go down. But the bottom line is its your ride,
and a custom paint job can look nice. The other great thing about paint, if you don't like it you
can always reshoot it.
