Nice looking bike, but far from original. Not sure about the prices in AZ, but here in Kansas City that would be a $900-$1,200 bike.

Yeah it seams the further west you go the higher the price gets. I have had my 79 for less than a year and could probably double my investment if I was patient, not that I would sell it anyway.

Even if not all original, it is still in excellent shape. While it wouldn't go for that up north, it would certainly go for more than Tools seemingly low price blessed area. That would probably be a 2000+ bike. Unless you are in Canada. They get raped on bike prices.

I do not know what it is, I keep hearing these high prices for bikes in other places, but here in Kansas City you cannot hardly give a bike away. If you look on craigslist there are adds that seem to run perpetually. I was just talking to a guy the other day that said he had a 1979 Kawasaki KZ 650 that had been sitting for awhile, and he was interested in selling it. Said he would take $350.00. I told a friend about it, and we went to look at it. It was a dirty, but all original (except paint) KZ 650 B, with title. Had not run in years. My buddy got it for $300.00. I am in the process of getting it roadworthy for him right now. Did discover something neat though, the points ignition had been upgraded to a Dyna ignition with Dyna coils.
What would this bike be wort wherever you live in get on it and ride it condition? I am talking new battery, new tires, new chain and sprockets, and the carbs rebuilt, running perfect.

79 kz650...running well...800-1200...looking good too...1200-1500...full tricked out cafe...just shy of 5000  http://phoenix.craigslist.org/nph/mcy/5926381795.html
this is one done by a professional. The catch here is year round riding so the prices don't change much by the seasons and nobody wants to give up a bike till they have a newer/better one.

Could probably be talked down to 700, maybe 600.

https://fargo.craigslist.org/mcy/5958122023.html
1800 easy

https://fargo.craigslist.org/mcy/5952403314.html
could probably get get down to 900.

This is average for winter prices. Wait till spring, add a couple hundred.

But, occasionally, a deal can be had for people that just want to get rid of stuff. It is rare though. Unless is says harley, then it is always going to be a premium price.

The Honda twins are really popular right now. Those should sell pretty easy.

I noticed that the twins are getting in the same price bracket as the fours here as long as they are in decent shape.
