I assume you are referring to Comstar rims?

I guess I would suggest a custom rim be cut out of aluminum block, like they do for cars.  I don't know if what you are asking is possible, without introducing metal fatigue.  If you can hand them a CD with the CAD program file of the finished product, nearly any machine shop could do it for you, if they will take small orders (many will only take large volume orders, but check around).  I've seen some of the reality show custom motorcycle shops have custom rims cut for them.

Otherwise, look for an existing motorcycle model, with the rims you want, and see if they can be adapted to fit your bike.  This should be less money than custom rims being cut.  Cheers!

I wonder if the ones on the Gold Wings are wider? If they are maybe, you could just remove the rivets, and change it.

I'm not sure if we have the same model of comstars, but I know the ones on the DOHC's are basically just bolted on at the rim. In theory, If you found a wider rim with the right inside diameter I bet you could do a little cutting and bolt your hub and stars in there.

Like lacing a pair of comstars?

Sarge, you are correct on what I was asking. I like the look of the wheels,so I really dont want to run a different style.

Tools and Half-Caf,you are both thinking on the same page as me. I talked to the people that we have sent drag wheels to in the past for widening or bead lock conversion and they won't tough a cycle wheel. I found one company that will,Kosman, but they charge $500 !!!!!!!!!! Ha,yeah. Not gonna happen. I was hoping to run a 160 tire on this bike. Not sure what a Comstar will hold.I think 140 is the max.I really need to just measure my rim first to see what it will actually hold. Been too busy to work on the bike for the past several days. I'm having withdrawal symptoms

please post any info you find about tire sizes, I'd like to use a wider tire as well.
