I have a friend that has a perforated one. I just wear a T-shirt myself. If it is a little chilly I go to a denim jacket, and leather, for when it's really cold.

Mossi makes a very nice 3/4 jacket, 600 Denier, with a removable liner, and armor, for around $100. This is what I went down in, last low-side. Waterproof, warm, comfy, and stylish --red/black is really sharp. Check Amazon.com -- best price I found.
Otherwise, Leatherup.com has very decent armored jackets from Xelement (son was wearing my old one in that low-side, kept him safe). Prices are very affordable, jackets are well ventilated, comfortable, and many styles to choose from. I would trust nearly any Xelement jacket, based on my 40MPH low-side experience. Cheers!

I got one these BILT Apollo Textile Motorcycle Jackets for $79 at CycleGear.com. It has a removable liner so it's not too bad on the hot days. It also has elbow and shoulder armor and zippered vents. I'm really pleased with it.

Be sure when you buy that you put it on don't buy somthing you can't try on first, remember it's for saftey,if sleeves to short or shoulders to tight Gloves you no from playing in the dirt hands usually hit first

my joerocket jacket is purty badazzz i think. sholder ,elbow and back armor. vents in sleve and chest. itried one on localy. it fit great. they wanted $399.00 for it. i found almost identical jacket for $100.00 on line. when i showed the guys at the shop the price difference, they said its because mine was an 09, or 2010 model close out. its an offical honda what ever, its got the licensed honda logo in side. this jacket is a lil heavy with armor and vest inside. i went for safety first, but this jacket looks purty dang good. ill find who i got it from. i found it by searchin honda cbr jacket. ill post a pic soon. its just hangin in the closet till i get rollin again.

Igloo I drink lots of gator-aid When riding ,I insulated a fogers plastic coffee container (alluminum matting type)and it's tie-downed to my rear peg and keg just slips in and out ,squeezer in cup holder on bars.Thoughs that get tired are usually dehydrated
When I ride I only stop at public places for gas ,I'd rather stop at road sides and creek / river bridges.

Hey Rich, when you bought your jacket from cycle gear, did the sizing chart work out ok?I hate to buy something that i cant try on
|

The sizes seem to be about right. I usually go with 2x on jackets and this one fits as good as any other I've gotten.

It's ok, I like the other better though.
In pittsburgh there is a second hand clothing store (boutique) and they got a million leather jackets. Fair prices too. Run by two gay dudes. It's kinda weird in there but the deals are right, and they'll tell ya if you look alright in it..

but I like the armor idea. I had a bad wreck with my last bike, and I can apreciate that stuff.
|

damn man, now I been surfing the web looking at jackets all day.. I'm like shit, I need a coat, I might as well get a riding jacket. and not have to buy two.

Armored jackets are great on the bike, in riding position, but walking around in them, is another matter... Our riding jackets have elbow, shoulder, and back, armor. They are wonderful on the bikes, but walking around, upright, the armor is not much fun after a while. We tolerate it, though, as we don't have room on the bike for another jacket, when we tour. Just an FYI. Cheers!
