aftermarket carb replacement options for DOHC

sjackson
Does anybody have experience with the Keihin CR29 replacement carbs for the DOHC bikes? (79-82) It's a lot of money, but I'm getting frustrated with the limitations of the stock CV carbs, and I'd also like some reliability on top of the extra performance. Plus I like the look of the pods, but I'm not about to go slapping those on some CVs. Anything I should know about if I take the CV carbs off the bike? Any other aftermarket carb options? Would a Mikuni FCR35H work? It's a bigger bore, but it will work on F models supposedly... I've got a '79 L (K)

There is not too much out there for carbs. The 29s would work pretty good but you are right. They are expensive! What mods do you have to your engine that the stock carbs are causing issues?
The ride IS the adventure. The destination is just to get gas!
