chain problems new and need help

i just bought a 1978 cb750k.had to buy tires for it first so i havent been able to ride it yet . with it on the stand when i spin the tire around the chain will go from being super loose to so tight i can hardly turn it . i have measured the spindal on both sides an they are the same and i have tried tightning the chain up on the loose section no help.the sprocket looks good i think it has 43th or 41 not sure about the front or what size chain .any advise will be helpfull before i spend money replacing good parts

The only time I have seen this happen is from a chain freezing up on it I would spray some on pb blaster on it a spin it over and see if it frees up if it does put some chain lube on it...hope it helps

If the chain is old it might be trying to kink up. Take it off, and work it to find any tight spots. If you find some use PB Blaster, and work it until it loosens up.

Chains often stretch at different points.  If the lube with penetrating oil does not cure it, then you will need to replace the chain.  Be sure the rear wheel is aligned, as well.  Cheers!
